About Lorrie
Grover

Having
trained, shown and competed with horses for over 30
years, Lorrie brings a comprehensive and well-rounded
approach to each horse and rider she works with.
Lorrie’s love for horses began in her childhood reading
books like “Little Black a Pony”, “Flicka” and of course
“Black Beauty”. With the purchase of her first horse (a
half Arabian named Socks) her love for horses grew into
a full-fledged passion.
As an adult,
Lorrie’s life has been devoted to her twin loves of
teaching and bringing out the best in both people and
animals. These loves led her to become a dance
instructor and eventually owner of her own dance studio.
While teaching dance Lorrie honed her people teaching
skills and ability to work with groups. While honing
these skills her love for working with animals never
changed. She continued to work with horses at every
available opportunity and dabbled in dog training
including training dogs to be “Certified Therapy Dogs”
approved to make hospital visits to the sick, injured
and elderly.
From a young girl
competing in local 4-H competitions, to a young lady
competing around the Midwest in AQHA shows and being
crowned Miss Rodeo Indiana, to a grown woman owning her
own training business Lorrie has continued to search for
the best ways to train horses and teach their riders.
Lorrie’s desire to
learn has led her down a diverse path and provided her
with the privilege of working with some of the greatest
horsemen and women of our time. Her diverse
background allows Lorrie to use a unique combination of natural and
traditional training methods in combination with her
dance experience and knowledge of body mechanics to help her
students and their horses achieve success and balance in
all riding disciplines from Dressage to Western Stock
Horse Versatility.
With her years of
experience in Teaching, Training, Colt Starting,
Showing and having a solid foundation in Natural
Horsemanship, Western Pleasure, English & Dressage
Riding, and Reining; Lorrie set out to develop her own
training and riding instruction program and Synergy
Horsemanship was born.
Synergy
Horsemanship: A cooperative interaction between a
horse and rider where their combined effect is greater
than the sum of their individual abilities.
